  1. Can I convert my Microsoft account to a child account and create a new adult one for me?

    Hi All

My son has used my Microsoft account on Xbox for years and I'm getting to the point where I would like to have him on a child account so I can manage hours use etc. However I don't want to create a situation where he loses all links to online friends etc.
and ideally would like to keep him on my account, convert it to a child account and change the email address if necessary so that I could create a new account in my name as the main adult account.

Would appreciate if someone could let me know if that can that be done?

    Thanks

    :)

It is not possible to convert an adult account to a child account. You would need to create a new child account. There is no way to transfer any of the saves or gamerscore to the new account from the adult account.

Can I convert my Microsoft account to a child account and create a new adult one for me?

It's not possible to convert an adult account to a child account. You would have to create a new child account or they would have to continue using your account.

Setting restrictions for children with adult Xbox accounts without losing their game data

Unfortunately the only way would be to create new child accounts for them which would basically require them to start over. There is no way to convert an adult to a child account and restrictions can only be set on a child account.

How to change my account to an adulte account

    Hello TheKingMuju,

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. Once a
Microsoft account is created as a child account
, the account will convert to an adult account once the account holder reaches the legal adult age in their country. The account will always retain the original birthday even if it is manually changed. We recommend

adding this account to a family and managing the family settings
, or create a new account if you would like to use adult account features. Be sure to let us know the results!
