    Periodic XBL Disconnects

    Modem: Cisco dpc3010

    Router is on current firmware.

I used DHCP reservation, and my NAT is set to open.

What I mean by periodic disconnects is that the Xbox will sign me out, I'll have to sign back in to reconnect, but it will always be the same ip (due to the reservation). This can happen anywhere between every 5 minutes to an hour.

NAT problems / sudden packet loss

Normally, the preferred method for eliminating double NAT would be to place the gateway in bridge (modem-only) mode. However, your Cisco doesn't seem to have that option, probably because it appears to provide voice/telephony also. Thus, you have 2 options.
Option 1, you could place the WAN/Internet IP of the Netgear router into the DMZ on the Cisco. Then, configure port forwarding for the Xbox on your Netgear as per normal.

Option 2, disable the DHCP server on the Netgear then connect an ethernet cable from a LAN port of the Cisco to a LAN port on the Netgear (leave the WAN port empty). Then configure all port forwarding on the Cisco instead of the Netgear.

Static ip and switching between wired and wireless.

More then likely your router is designating the IP off the units MAC Address, however since your wired and wireless connection is two different network devices, they each have a differnet MAC Addresses.

An easier way to fix this is to go into your router settings through a browser and you should see a section for DHCP Reservations. You should then see each of your devices including the Xbox wired and wireless (again it will show twice with different Mac
Addresses) you can then reserve a different IP address for each Xbox connection and then set-up port forwarding to each of those IPs.

I have the e-4200 model from Cisco, and the DHCP reservations are right on the Basic Settings Page.

    "IP Address Error"

I reconnected the power of router and modem. I tried static IP address and I adjusted DHCP settings, but also didn't work.

Model of my router is: cisco linksys E1200. Thank you.
