  1. Community Growth, Game Streaming Support, Refinement of Rules, and a New Feature

Hey Xbox Insiders! We wanted to drop an update about subreddit operations as we prepare to close out the year. But, before we do that, we should pause and recognize the value that this community has driven. From the Xbox Insider Program and feature teams across the organization, THANK YOU! You’ve brought us bugs, feedback, and ideas that continue to drive up the quality of the entire Xbox ecosystem. You rock.

And you’re growing! Just today, we crossed over 30,000 subscribers. Thanks for your continued engagement, and here’s to 30,000 more!

    Game Streaming Support and Discussion:

Game Streaming continues to be a big driver of content here in the sub. And that’s a great thing! As you probably know, r/XboxInsiders is the official support space for both Project xCloud and Console Streaming while it’s in preview, and we welcome all of the feedback and bug reporting that you’re giving us. Xbox Rangers and Xbox Staff are combing through here, looking for Game Streaming posts in order to offer their help and learn from you what is important in your Game Streaming experiences. We’ve been investigating ways to streamline that conversation so that you can still find the topics you want to discuss, while keeping Game Streaming support and discussions in a useful space. In transparency, we noticed that a megathread tended to bury newer questions or problems, but allowing multiple support posts yielded a lot of repeated questions or common issues. We settled on creating a weekly thread much like Xbox Requests so that Staff and Rangers still have a consolidated way to see your feedback and ideas on this topic. Beginning this week, moderators will begin asking new submitters who have Game Streaming support questions to post in the weekly thread, rather than creating a new post.

    Refinement of Subreddit Rules:

Many of you veteran readers of this subreddit are pretty good at writing descriptive titles to your posts – not too long, and not too short. That's just good practice across Reddit. As we continue to grow, we’re going to begin enforcing a minimum title length within the subreddit to ensure you’re clicking into conversations that you really want to read. We’ve set the minimum title length to 32 characters, which is long enough to be useful, but short enough to remain easy to submit. As an example, it avoids allowing a title of “Help!”, and promotes new submissions to very briefly explain what they want help with before describing in full the details in their post body. And, just to help visualize this new requirement: ’32 characters is about this long’

    New Feature of the Subreddit:

Did you know that you can read this subreddit in Spanish? Or Korean? Or just for fun, even Klingon? We began using Microsoft Translator here in r/XboxInsiders to increase the accessibility of the part of the Xbox Insider community who don’t use English as their first language. This subreddit has never been English only, and when non-English posts are submitted, Staff and moderators have used Microsoft Translator services to read, understand, and respond to that submitter’s question. It was only natural that we extend that functionality to you in a way that was easy to use. This is especially important as the Game Streaming Support Hub is open to all regions where the Game Streaming Preview is active – these regions are not necessarily English-first. While testing this over the last week, we’ve learned some important things about how it’s implemented:

    • Because Reddit uses an https:// protocol, the in-frame Microsoft Translator service cannot keep a user’s login information. The subreddit is still readable in this state, but non-English submissions will need to occur outside of the translator frame.
    • New.Reddit (Reddit Redesign) format in the web version exposes the Microsoft Translator options quite handily in the top nav dropdown. We’ve also added an Old.Reddit link in the sidebar to get to additional options here, too.
    • Mobile app users clicking on a translation link will be taken to their browser where they can read in their selected language.

As always, YOU are the reason that we are here, and we want to hear from you. Do you have any feedback on these changes or features, or do you have any questions about how they have rolled out? Do you have any other ideas for how we can make this subreddit itself even more efficient? Please let us know here. Thank you, Xbox Insiders, for your engagement and for everything else that you do for the community!

Bioshock Collection Cannot be Streamed or captured.

Hey all, not all games support Game DVR, Screenshots and Twitch streaming. The Bioshock Collection is one of those games in this case according to the

    2k Support website
. As suggested, you'll want to keep an eye on that page for any additional information about these features.

Since this is a verified answer to the issue, I'm going to lock this thread. If anyone does have any other support related issues related to Game DVR or anything else, please start up a new thread detailing your issue so that the community can help out.
    Thanks!

    Is gaming now considered mainstream.

I think it is considered mainstream because streaming has become popular and esports have also helped in its growth.

Thinking of starting a streaming channel questions

If your talking about the Mixer Stream with the new webcam support , no you will not see it on your consoles output. My best understanding the pro streamers go to a PC to stream for more control and other advanced features with a 3rd party streaming device.

    Modding?

I will tell you right now if you cherish your new account and your xboxs ability to access online features do not mod and stay away from modders. it is highly against the rules reason being modders are changing the established parameters of a game or feature
that is provided to them. this highly against the rules and you and your console will be banned upon investigation by the support team
