    Disc Drive Turing Itself On

    Hey all,

I bought my Xbox One just a few days ago and today while playing a demo of NHL 15, with no disc inserted, the disc drive turned on. I didn't touch the console to insert a disc but it was making the noise like I did, then a message popped up that it couldn't
read the disc even though there wasn't one.

It only happened today, just the one time, but it still seems weird.

This is also my first Xbox ever so not sure what is normal and what's not.

Is this normal? Is it faulty?

Thanks for any replys Disc Drive Turing Itself On :D

    :)

    Hey there Bic BladePriest.

Do you have your console set to Instant On or Power Saving? If you have it set to Instant On, please give your Xbox One a full power cycle by holding down the power button for 8-10 seconds to see if that helps.

    Xbox one turing itself on

I have the 1TB Call of Duty model XboxOne,. I have noticed the last two nights, I am in my room watching TV and the Xbox just turns itself on out of nowhere. It has been off for hours, and just turned on. It is plugged into the wall and there are no other
items plugged into it. I have had it for about a year now and never noticed this before. I am especially concerned because this is in a closed cabinet, its open whenever I use the console, but if I am travelling it would be closed.

    Hi,

A couple options I'd like to suggest is this, monitor the console to see if the problem repeats itself or alternatively you can call Support to consider having it sent in but with that being said, you mentioned the console was recently purchased so you may
want to check with the retailer you purchased it from to see if it can be returned. If you purchased an extended warranty, that may also cover this issue giving you the added option of returning it with much ease.

    Xbox Turing on by itself

Hey BiggishTitan512! Do you have your console set to Power-Saver or Instant-On mode? Additionally, does the console make a chime sound and fully turn on display or does it appear to only be installing updates? Post back and let us know!

If your disc drive isn't reading the disc, either your disc drive is on the way out, or there is a fault with the disc itself.

I cannot get the region code to change on my Xbox 360

There is no way to change the region coding of the disc drive itself. You would have to purchase a 360 that is set up to play NTSC discs or make sure the discs you're using can be played in a PAL drive.
