    I have been trying to install Halo Infinite and the campaign with the xbox app on windows 10 pc. When attempting to download the game, I get error code 0x87e00196. After restarting my pc a couple of times, the download would jump to 1.5gb out of 67gb then stop with the same error code.

    First, I bought the game and the campaign a week ago. I first installed the game and only the multiplayer worked, the campaign did not download. After finding out the campaign wouldn't download. I tried a couple of methods online to see if it would download. None of those worked.

    Now, I have completely uninstalled the game and now getting the same code as above. Can anybody help with find a solution to this? I would love to play the game in some way. Thanks for your help. I am willing to provide details if someone can assist me with getting the game to run successfully.

    if not, try the following

    Reinstall the Gaming Services app on your Windows 10/11 device:

    Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type powershell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and then select Run as administrator.

    In Windows PowerShell, type the following command and press Enter:

    get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

    In the same window, type the following command and press Enter:

    start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

    Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.

    Restart your device and try to install the game again.

    Error 0x80070005 is an 'access denied' error code. It means that games and apps can't be installed due to file access restrictions.

    Did you use D:\ drive on a previous PC or previous install of Windows 10?

    Games and Apps on Windows 10 Store install to a folder called 'WindowsApps', if this folder already exists on your drive, you won't be able to install games.

    I'd wager the only possibility we see Halo 5 on PC is closer to the Halo Infinite launch. It would definitely create a surge in interest in the franchise and we already know Infinite will be on Windows 10.
