HELP!!!!! Xbox series s with 2tb seagate hdd

I have an Xbox series s with a 2tb seagate hdd for external storage. Anytime I am running a game with my Spotify in the background the whole system goes nuts. I was playing gtav with my Spotify running in the background and all was going just fine. The moment I tried to get to my Home Screen I get nothing but a solid green screen. The only way I can get rid of it is by holding down the power button on the console until it hard reboots. Every time I also try to do this my console always seems uncomfortably hot too. I have no idea why. I’m not sure if those both issues are connected in any way. PLEASE HELP!!!! Any advise would be great at this point. Thanks

Seagate "Game Drive for Xbox" 2TB Portable HDD. It is 3.0 USB and the box states that it is designed for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.It works if I download a game direct to HDD but it won't open games that I have moved across - not optimised. Optimised game downloaded direct, does open and play.

That's great to know. How is it going now with the issue that you have experienced?

I’ve reset the Xbox the exact way you told me to. None of my apps or games are on my device and my external hard drive is not recognized by the console. There has to be a way I can recover my games. It says in my storage that my internal ssd is almost full because it was like that when I had all my stuff downloaded in the first place. Looks like I’m starting fresh and just doing a full reset since that didn’t work the way it was supposed to…..

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

I appreciate the detailed information. In this case, we will be needing to reset your console keeping your games and apps. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

Reset and keep my games & apps.

I changed a few settings on the console which required an immediate restart. My games stored on my hard drive came back. I did a full factory reset and started downloading my games from the cloud. All games on my external hard drive came back and are working normal
