    My xbox can't detect my Comcast cable box all of a sudden. It is the HDMI connection, not the USB. I've tried every troubleshooting step I can find at least five times and no results.

    Well I mean because its always gonna need to be on when watching tv now since the cable box is no longer connected to one of my HDMI ports on my tv. Its going to be connected to the X1 and your gonna need the X1 & cable box on now

    The cable out of the BOX is only one of two required HDMI connection, though. There should be an HDMI connecting the XBOX One to the Cable Box (I used the included cable for this) and an HDMI connecting the XBOX to the Television (I used my existing HDMI
    connecting TV to Cable for this).

    I am going to try buying the highest quality HDMI cable I can find from Best Buy and will see if it makes any difference. It would also be a good idea if someone has a second TV they can connect and measure if the problem persists. If neither of these
    things fixes the issue I think it's time for an exchange.

    Do you have HDMI set to auto-select? I used to have issues like this with my TV/cable box and it was the TV failing the HDMI handshake when starting up. If it is on auto-detect, I can't recall if there is a setting and am at work, but can you force the
    X-Box to run in the expected resolution?
