OSU1 updates - How do I know its the latest version?

Right - so I downloaded the OSU1 file on August 14, 2019 - assuming that it would have the latest dash update. However, when I went into Settings to check the version number, it still has the last 4 version number digits of the July 2019 dash/OS [

    10.0.18362.5047].

Is there any real way of knowing that MS has updated the OSU1 files along with every subsequent system update for the Xbox One-X? Because the file size is the same as it was in late July, early August and Aug 14 - i.e. 5.1 gb.

Also, the only release notes I see next to the new OS version is this:

    Release date

    8/13/2019

    Take a break

The new break reminder in Settings/Preferences lets you set a timer that reminds you to take a break after a certain amount of time on the console. The timer restarts if you sign out or turn
off the console. You choose the interval – 30 minutes to two hours.

Where can I find complete release notes?

In case you're wondering - I can't do normal system updates because it doesn't download properly no matter what. Don't care to explain as I already explained everything in another thread. The ONLY way for me right now to get updates is through the OSU1 USB
    boot method.

I don't have the time or money either to ship my console for repairs - so, your feedback is welcome!

    :)

OSU1 updates - How do I know its the latest version?

"The OSU doesnt apply too any update they are differnt things so keep making theads and asking this isnt going too get you a andswer too when the OSU will be updated because it doesnt need too be. Also please bear in
mind that you shouldnt be making new theads of the same question"

I think you ought to visit the other thread first before drawing any conclusions - it talks about the need to update at all - and does not *specifically* revolve around OSU1 updates.

"If your having E errors and you tried the OSU and it hasnt helped then you want too make sure that your following the steps on the page most common things missed are the
USB wasnt formated correctly or the file wasnt unziped."

Sorry but you're either making too many assumptions here and not reading the original post properly. I don't have problems with installing system files from OSU1, although it can take a few tries at times. Also, I don't
get the E errors, unless I attempt to update from Xbox Live.

"If its the case that you have done the steps and not getting anywhere with them then the next step would be a factory reset by holding the bind and eject keys togethor
and pressing the power button. Keep holding the bind and eject keeys then choose reset xbox then fully reset, This will remove anything from the console. Once you restarted try the update again if everything works you can then sign back in and redownload everything
    back."

I understand that you're trying to help, but you are again, making assumptions. I don't need to follow the bind+eject steps - my original post merely revolves around getting some clarification on the very nature of
OSU1, which you have already clarified, so thank you.

"If the reset doesnt work then the other options would be too send the console for repair or too buy a new console."

Nope, already mentioned multiple times in both threads that it's not an option for me, but you probably haven't read this post or the other one thoroughly.

Finally, your messages would be a lot easier on the eyes if you would proofread them before posting them. Good day then.

OSU1 updates - How do I know its the latest version?

    Hello Speedster,

Thanks for keeping us updated. As mentioned above, the OSU1 shouldn't be used to update your console to the most recent update. It is only used for troubleshooting purposes.

Aside from that, by "Hard resets" do you mean
    power cycles
, or factory resets? Nothing bad should happen to your console if you are performing either of these troubleshooting steps. However, if you constantly need to do factory resets to use your console, then you should consider sending in your

    console for repair.

Aside from that, one Easy way to troubleshoot downloading system updates would be trying to update your console on a different home network. using a hotspot is not recommended, but if that is all you have then I would give it a shot.

OSU1 updates - How do I know its the latest version?

    Hi Speedster996,

Thanks for staying in contact and keeping us updated with your replies. At this time all information available has been given regarding the OSU1 updates and as our Ambassadors and my fellow XBF members have recommended, it is highly likely that your console
simply needs a repair if it is not wishing to take the latest updates and keeps giving you E-type system errors. I've had some personal experience with that happening to my own console but after sending to the Service Center, which didn't take very long, it
    hasn't had a issue since.

As every possible solution has been given to you from various avenues of support (and over a few threads) and you're aware that at this time a repair may be necessary (whenever it would best for you), for now your option would be to use offline play until
such time as you can/need to update or repair the console.

Since there is no further resolution at this time and in an effort to minimize repetitive answers we will be locking this thread, but if you have any further questions or concerns feel free to come back to the Xbox forum (Do not repost the same
question or thread as that would violate the Xbox Forum Guidelines).

    Happy gaming.

Two things first hotspots arent recommended you are better off getting a broadband connection or taking it to someone with such a connection there is a reason why

Its not designed for consistent and large downloads

If yiu are talking about a phone your best bet contact your provider and ask for help certain ports needs to be open and unfortunately phones are different everytime how and which ports they can be open and where

Its a tedious proccess and any multiplayer connection you will have will always have issues with nat and lag

If you are at a dorm.or a hotel yiu wont have access to the router

If a lte stick same ththing

To get an Open NAT Type, you will want to forward the following ports to the IP address of your Xbox One:

    • TCP: 53, 80, 3074.
    • UDP: 53, 88, 500, 3074, 3544, 4500.
    • These ports needs to be open
    • Also it wont solve nat which will alwaysbbe forever strick with that type.of connection
    • If you are in a remote area satilite internet is marginally better

I never said I'm using WiFi - you assumed. :)

I'm on a 20meg broadband connection with 10meg upload. MP is smooth and seamless, lag-free. Downloads are as quick as I would expect.

however, I've learned that a "glitchy" Xbox One-X will disconnect your router from time to time, which mine does, on occasions. My PC or laptop never does that to the router, or the original release fat xbox one.

I don't understand why people assume things here! Just saying. :)
