    Shutdown PC while installing Forza Horizon 5, now it won't install


    I downloaded half of Forza Horizon 5, then needed to shutdown my PC. When I turned it back on, it is no longer in my library.

    When I click the install button on the Xbox app, it shows "Preparing 0% View Progress" for ~30 seconds, then the green install button reappears.

    I have followed the advice on "Troubleshoot game installations on a Windows Device" which hasn't helped.

    forza horizon 4 expansion bundle

    forza horizon 4 and the expansion installed on my other PC just now fine. there has got to be a way to fix to install on my PC with the EVGA 1080ti and 5K monitor. that PC boots to an M.2 drive so I have the store installing games on a new crusial SSD.
    Ive thought about uninstalling and re installing forza H 4 but Im afraid it might not install again. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated

    Hey MartinVincett, how are you today? Hope you're well.

    For a couple of days now, Horizon 5 is exhibiting a few error's and problems, Microsoft acknowledge them here:

    Try this:

    Log out of your account on the app, reinstall it, restart your PC, and then log back in and try again. :)

    If this doesn't work:

    First, make sure your windows and all its services are up to date:

    Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

    Click Check for Updates;

    Click the Download and Install Now option, if available;

    Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services.

    Then try this:

    Go to windows settings > apps > search for gaming services app > click on it and select advanced options.

    After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

    Then do the same for the Xbox app:

    Go to windows settings > apps > search for Xbox app > click on it and select advanced options.

    After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

    If it still doesn't work you're going to uninstall the games services using a powershell command, then you're going to open the gamepass app, it will ask you to download and install the game services again :

    In the windows search bar type Powershell > Right click and select open as administrator > Type the command: "get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-Appxpackage –allusers" > Wait for the process to finish and then restart the PC, then open your Xbox gamepass app, it will ask you to install the gaming services again, install it and try again.

    If neither of those procedures works, try to restore your PC's OS via the ISO image tool, using that tool you will be able to maintain your installed games and files.

    Controller stops working when reconected

    I have same problem, and now that I think about it, it only occured after I installed forza horizon 2 and has only happened while forza was on, is it a problem with the game perhaps?

    Hi GivenUnicycle60, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

    On your Xbox App kindly install the Forza Horizon 5 Premium Add-Ons Bundle, simply search for it from there for you to have an option to install.

    If it's already installed kindly repair the game and then restart your PC.

    Settings > Apps > Search for "Forza Horizon 5" > Advanced Options > Repair > Restart.
