  1. Speaker/TV Infrared commands conflict?

I can configure my console to turn my speakers and TV on/off via IR when the console turns on/off. This works for each device in isolation but not together:

    1. Console configured to turn on/off just speakers: speakers turned on/off
    2. Console configured to turn on/off just tv: tv turned on/off
    3. Console configured to turn on/off both speakers and tv: only tv turned on/off
I've tried adjusting the placement of the Kinect/speakers and even pointed an IR extension directly at the speakers, all with the same outcome. Other commands such as volume up/down/mute work perfectly. Is it possible that the tv/speaker power commands
are being sent too close together and conflicting?

    Thanks in advance.

    :)

Not auto-switching to HDMI input source

"The Xbox One doesn't use HDMI-CEC. Everything simply uses infrared commands"

OK, it's that. Each TV has its own source selector method so using IR commands is not possible, as you said.

It would be a nice feature because the media remote and set aside the TV remote.

Will Sky/BBC/Channel 4 or any UK Content be on XBox One and how integrated

The main thing i am hoping for is that when i come home i can just shout "xbox on" from my front door and by the time i sit down i'm ready to play, i'm not as fussed about TV going through my Xbone. I have a Samsung TV with freeview built in (so no HDMI
out). I get what an earlier poster said about that we'll still be able to use our TV as we always have done but I really want to use voice commands. By what mechanism will my XBone be able to switch on my tv? Using the infrared of the kinect? Is there any
chance the Kinect would act as a remote control for the TV via infrared? meaning those who do not have HDMI pass-through could just watch TV on their smart TV and still be able to shout commands and have the kinect act as the infrared TV remote?

Kinect very rarely acknowledges "xbox on" command

Thanks for the reply, but none of these are the issue (and I've tested in a multitude of circumstances). Since this is dealing with the "xbox on" command, the TV speakers are *not* on. Also, when the system is on, it recognizes my voice commands just fine
from the same location (now the TV speakers are on).

This seems very clearly to be a software issue as the voice commands work decently when the xbox is on.

Not auto-switching to HDMI input source

The Xbox One doesn't use HDMI-CEC. Everything simply uses infrared commands. So it's not going to automatically switch inputs to the right one. I suppose it could switch an input if the TV is already on and the code to power on the TV changes the input
if the TV is already on.

TV Turns off when turning xbox on

Guess you have set up the xbox to turn on the tv and receiver. So it tries to do that when it is turned on (Xbox cannot sense that it is already on).

Your tv model responds to turn on/off with the same infrared signal. So when it is on, it will turn off and vice versa with the same command. That's not a fault/problem from the xbox but from the tv manufacturer.

    So two options:

    - always turn on the tv by turning on the xbox and turn the tv off by turning the xbox off

    - or do not let the xbox turn on your tv and do that manually
