Hi, I purchased an xbox a few years ago for my children. I set the xbox up and used my microsoft account to do so. We purchased xbox live, downloaded games, etc. I then discovered that I could set up each of the kids under my family and then monitor/restrict
use on things, etc. The problem is, the main account that my one son has been using is attached to my microsoft e-mail and I'd like to move it to his. He doesn't want to lose all his progress and badges, etc. I don't play that often and so not sure I'm
communicating my question properly, but I'd like to be able to get him on his own account with his own password so I can secure mine again and have some parental controls. Is this possible? Or am I missing a feature that I can use?

    :)

Yes, I have child accounts set up - it wasn't necessary or on my radar when we first go the xbox as they were smaller and it was easy to limit their time/games. Now that they are getting older and can access the xbox without my help, I have set up child
accounts and researched how to set limits etc. The problem is that my one child has been playing a certain game faithfully and is devastated to potentially lose all his progress - and I would like to also protect myself and my own microsoft account/password
without having to give up that information to him. I hate that he will have to lose all his progress - even though just a game - so I can protect my own personal account. I was just hoping there was a way I could transfer over the gamertag to his account.
    Thank you both for answering.

    Hello CandenceSturges,

Unfortunately, it is not possible to transfer any progress to someone else. All of your saves and achievements are locked to your gamertag/account in the cloud.

It it possible to share games though on the same console or different consoles via gameshare.

Unfortunately there is not unless you just decide to give up your account to them and try to set that as a child account. I would just bite the bullet now so to speak and move them to a child account. I now its a hassle and your child may not be happy
about it but it will make things easier on you in the long run. More than likely they will be able to recreate their progress fairly quickly.

The below may mess up what you have already done for the other child accounts.

    1. Log in to Account.Microsoft.Com using the email address for the adult account
    2. Select family
    3. Under Family, select View your Family
    4. select leave family
    5. Sign out from the adult account
    6. Sign in using the parent account
    7. go back to family
    8. select add family member
    9. then select as a child
    10. please follow the same process upon converting another account to a child.

Can you tell me why this is? As the primary "adult" on the account I now have no recourse or ability to set up restrictions, and I cannot transfer the profile to another e-mail address even though it's associated with our "family" group?
