    I get this error when trying to renew my gold membership. It happens on my xbox, and when I try to do it via xbox.com with my phone and computer. I have searched these forums and reddit, but there doesn't seem to be an easy solution to this. If anyone could
    help me out, I would appreciate it.

    Hi there,

    Remeeming errors (or purchasing errors) can be caused by issues on the account itself. Be sure to check if your billing information is correct at
    http://billing.microsoft.com and also check
    http://account.microsoft.com/services for any outstanding amount issues, these need to be sorted prior to being able to redeem codes.

    After that try redeeming the code on both xbox console and via xbox.com/redeemcode

    Also check that the Xbox Live account , the console and code all match region wise, using different regions for any of them cause issues too.

    If you can't find anything wrong and it is still not working, best thing to do is to contact official Xbox Support via Phone or Microsoft Support Chat at
    Contact Us | Xbox Support they can do a more indepth look into this issue.

    Thank you for posting on Xbox Forums! Just to clarify, how are you trying to upgrade to Game Pass ultimate subscription? Are you doing so from your console, or are you using a Laptop or Desktop? I would suggest trying to

    Contact Support
    for further assistance, just so they can check your account to see that everything is in order as far as Billing info and that there are no discrepencies on the account.

    Try this:

    • Log into Support.Xbox.com
    • Scroll down, Click on Contact Us
    • Step 1: Click on Ask a Question
    • Step 2 : Select your Product
    • Step 3 : Select your Issue
      • Select – Call me back

    same issue, been trying to use a credit card instead of a live card from the store.. this is the first time this has happened.. hopefully we get a answer soon. Ive also been on the support chat and phone for over 20 mins.

    Hi, there seems to be an issue with the store that is preventing redeeming code, and purchasing content. Microsoft will be aware and working on a fix.
    Do you know that for certain or is that an assumption?
