    Trying to rename file atiumdag.dll using cmd.exe on Windows 11


    I'm trying to rename the file atiumdag.dll but I keep running into obstacles. The last obstacle that I am having troubles with overcoming is when I get an error message that says the following: "the action can't be completed because the file is open in windows explorer close the file and try again." At this point I used task manager to End the task explorer.exe. All I need is the command to let me rename this file to atiumdag_old.dll. Is this possible? I am just trying to play an old pc game called Ragnarok Online, which also happens to be a private server. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you~

    Try to rename your console on your network. After renaming, it will automatically restart. Once back on, please test again by pinging the console using your Windows PC.

    Did the services stop when you typed in the command? What did they say after each command? And you left them off when trying to rename the folder? It should say "The <service> was stopped successfully" as the second message of the command.

    If it's still not letting you try running the STOP commands a few times, and instead of trying to rename from File Explorer, you can try to rename directly from the Command Prompt with the command:

    rename %windir%\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.bak

    I have already renamed D:\WindowsApps to D:\WindowsAppsOld before trying. When I try to set the new drive from C: to D:, it creates a new D:\WindowsApps folder but then errors and leaves the setting as C:. There is also a C:\Program Files\WindowsApps folder
    but I assume this is not the one it is talking about. I can't rename this one as it is in use by the Store.

    Xbox files are not meant to be read on a PC and transferred between a PC and console. If they're the files for the actual games, you would just have to redownload them. If they're saves, then they're lost unless you still have them saved on the console or backed up somewhere else.
