Xbox One feature request to allow to dim controller's light brightness

Hello, I would like to request Microsoft to allow all users of Xbox One to be able to select the brightness of their controllers' XBOX button light.

I know that whoever has a connected Kinect sensor has their light's (both console's and controller's) brightness controlled automatically but the sensor is discontinued and no new units will come out which leaves the vast majority of our community without
any means of changing that setting.

My proposal is that Microsoft adds that through the quick panel, just like it has the headset volume dimmer type settings.

If the new implemented setting affects the console power button light brightness as well as each controller's light at the same time that would be an acceptable implementation as well in my opinion. But at very least it has to affect connected as well as
newly connected (after selecting the setting value) controllers' lights.

Since the setting would use the same mechanism already in place for Kinect data input, I think that it can be addressed entirely through a software update. In fact I'm having a hard time believing that this was never proposed or addressed before.

This new feature would also improve our gamming experience by saving power on our controller batteries, making our gamming capability last even longer.

Microsoft, please allow us to choose this setting in all of our controller's models, not just the Elite controller model.

Community, please vote up this entry and help to convince Microsoft to implement this feature.

    Thanks.

    :)

    Xbox power light dimming?

Seems to change based on the light in the room. Kinda like when your phone screen dims. Dark room = dim Xbox logos on the system, Kinect and controller, bright room = bright light.

White power button distracting too you?

I wish they had brightness sliders for the power light and for the Kinect light, including allowing you to turn both lights completely off.

Originally, Kinect would detect the light level of the room and dim the lights accordingly, but MS then allowed manufacturers to disable most of the features of the Kinect in order to gain extra resources to use elsewhere and the light dimming is affected
by that, so in many games now the lights are on max no matter how dark the room is.

Xbox One X with Kinect and auto dimming lights

My Kinect and console light auto dimming is still acting oddly. When in a game both are bright, but when I open the guide they both dim and stay dim when I go home and browse around the console. Back to the game and they go bright again.

It's a bit annoying, because the X power button light is quite bright in a low lit room. I was hoping hooking up Kinect would produce the same experience with the light dimming as on the One.

What's with the dim xbox logo light??

When the room is dark the LED's dim when the room is bright the LED's are bright Xbox One does this automatically noting is wrong with it. it's an ambient light sensor

What's with the dim xbox logo light??

It would be nice if they would allow the Kinect xbox logo on the top right of the display to b dimmed or turned off. The darn thing has given my 2013 model panasonic 65" plasma VT50 fits with image retention.

Also, I don't notice the controller light change at all, as others above say they noticed. Console and Kinect light, yes. The controller should have an dim or off option as the light is I am sure putting a bit of extra drain on the batteries. And it's bright
    at night when playing.
