    I have 25 dollars in my Microsoft account. I have a past due balance of 16 something and i want to use the Microsoft account to pay for the past due balance. Im tying to get xbox live but when i try to buy it it says that i have to pick a back up way to
    pay. I heard that to change that i turn off recurring billing but in order to do that i have to pay the over due balance. Any help?

    Thanks for your post! Unfortunately, Microsoft Account balances can not be used to purchase/renew a subscription. If your subscription is past due, check out this article on how to pay the balance and continue your subscription:

    Prepaid codes cannot be used or activated if your Microsoft account is suspended or has a balance due. You must resolve all unpaid balances and account suspensions before you can use the prepaid code. To do so, see the following pages:

    You would need to check microsoftstore.com to see if you can purchase a prepaid gold card there with your Microsoft account balance. Otherwise, it is not possible to use your Microsoft account balance to purchase a subscription through Xbox.
